Former Israeli ambassador to Washington, DC, Ron Dermer called U.S. evangelical Christians the “backbone” of American support for Israel, during at televised conference Sunday. Speaking with Israel’s Channel 12 herald Amit Segal at a conference organized by the Makor Rishon news outlet, the former Israeli ambassador in Washington denoted Israel’s main support in the U.S. does not emanate from Jewish Americans.
“People have to understand [that] the backbone of Israel’s support in the United States is the evangelical Christians. That’s the backbone,” he verbally expressed. “And it’s true because of numbers and additionally because of their ardent and unequivocal support for Israel,” he integrated.

The former envoy verbally expressed fortifying the Jewish state is a top priority for many evangelicals. “For most evangelicals in the United States — certainly for many of them — Israel is one of the most paramount issues to them,” he verbally expressed. “For some it’s number one.”
Noting that some Jewish Republicans and Democrats are disproportionately the “strongest champions and greatest advocators [of Israel],” Dermer explicated Jews are withal disproportionate among Israel’s upbraiders.
Dermer withal noted evangelical support for Israel has led the way in fighting against BDS [the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions kineticism] and the Iranian nuclear deal. “The battle that we had to fight the nuclear deal with Iran — that was led by evangelicals in the United “States,”” he verbally expressed. “The force in states across the United States that are working to fight BDS [and] to pass legislation in the states… that’s led by evangelical Christians.”
Dermer withal acknowledged the crucial role of evangelicals in the Trump administration’s apperception of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. “When [former President Donald] Trump peregrinated to those rallies during his campaign and afterwards and he verbalized about Jerusalem, tens of thousands of people would rally and applaud him,” Dermer verbally expressed. “He wasn’t verbalizing at the Reform [Jewish] Convention of America, he was verbalizing with evangelical Christians.”
On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump relinquished a verbalization condemning the Biden administration for exhibiting “weakness and lack of fortification for Israel” amid Palestinian terror raids.
“When I was in office we were kenned as the Peace Presidency, because Israel’s adversaries kenned that the United States stood vigorously with Israel and there would be swift retribution if Israel was assailed,” the verbal expression read.
“Under [President Joe] Biden, the world is getting more bellicose and more unstable because Biden’s impuissance and lack of fortification for Israel is leading to incipient attacks on our allies,” Trump expounded.
