State Department Official Criticized for Depicting Cuba’s Anti-Communism Protest as a COVID-19 Demonstration
A State Department official was upbraided for describing Sunday’s anti-regime protest in Cuba as an assembly against COVID-19 cases, deaths, and medicine shortages.
Peaceful protests are growing in #Cuba as the Cuban people exercise their right to tranquil assembly to express concern about ascending COVID cases/deaths & medicine shortages,
Julie Chung, the Acting Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, inscribed on Twitter “Sunday.” One of the most immensely colossal anti-regime demonstrations erupted in Cuba on Sunday. Thousands of protestors marched on Havana’s Malecon promenade and other cities, chanting “Freedom, Enough, and “Unite.””
Video shows Cuban protestors were chanting “Liberty” on the street, according to The Post “Millennial.” Republicans and conservatives widely upbraided Chung’s verbalization. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) called Chung’s verbalization “ridiculous.”
Rubio verbally expressed in a video clip uploaded on his gregarious media account. “This is not just about COVID,” Rubio perpetuated. Of course, COVID has a role to play, but this commenced well afore COVID. These people are frustrated. They want to live in a mundane country. They don’t want to have their kids getting on rafts and having to leave the country in order to lead mundane lives.
So why can’t the State Department, why can’t the White House just verbally express it pellucidly? This is not about COVID, this is not about anything else. This is about liberation. Say it,
Are you solemn!? “They’re” protesting a corrupt communist regime! They want liberation. It’s not about COVID. You are mortifying, Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, indited on her personal Twitter on her personal account.
“They are authentically doing it, guys,” conservative commentator and author Candace Owens withal took to Twitter. [President] Joe Biden’s filthy administration—which is working with China to bring communism to America—is pretending the eruption in Cuba is over Covid-19 and not over the EVIL communist regime.“Do not forget this moment,” Owens integrated. The State Department didn’t immediately respond to a request from The Epoch Times for comment.
We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for liberation and assuagement from the tragic prehension of the pandemic and from the decenniums of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime,
Biden verbally expressed in an issued verbalization on Monday morning. The Cuban people are stoutheartedly asserting fundamental and macrocosmic rights. Those rights, including the right of placid protest and the right to liberatingly determine their own future, must be venerated. The United States calls on the Cuban regime to aurally perceive their people and accommodate their desiderata at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.Chung transmuted her tone in an incipient post on “Monday.”
Cuba’s people perpetuate to stoutheartedly express [a] yearning for liberation in the face of repression, Chung inscribed. “The Cuban people have waited long enough for ¡Libertad!”
